Associate – Accounts and Finance

Key Responsibilities

Accounting

• Maintain general ledger and assisting in day-to-day accounting tasks such as payroll reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other relevant tasks.

• Assist and supervise in preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements and weekly cash flow reporting.

• Highlight errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency.

• Review and recommend modifications or improvements to accounting systems and procedures.

• Assist with tax audits and tax returns (VAT, Corporate Tax).

• Ensure compliance with IFRS and UAE Federal Tax Laws.

• Assist internal and external audit teams in obtaining all necessary audit working papers, examination & documentation and execute analytical review of audit documents.

Financial reporting

• Prepare reports and analysis and support the development of new requests to meet the changing business needs.

• Obtain relevant data from appropriate sources, ensure quality and accuracy of data, and delivers timely recommendations.

Other responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.

• Perform other accounting duties and support junior staff as required or assigned.

Qualification & Experience

• Graduate in accounting with preferably part qualifications in either CPA or ACCA.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services industry.

Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Highly detail-oriented and organized.

• Strong knowledge of financial statements and reports.

• Experience with accounting general ledgers and journals.

• Strong knowledge in principles and practices of financial record keeping, audits, and accounting functions and IFRS.

• Proficiency in MS Excel.

• Proficiency in MS Office & Business Analytical Tools.

• Familiarity with accounting software and programs.

• Strong presentation & communication skills.
