It is a multi-currency prepaid card whereby you can have up-to 20 currencies loaded into a single card with the rate specified at the time of loading. An ideal companion when you travel abroad. Yes, you have an option to request for a personalized card with your name printed on it. Please inform the agent at the branch that you would like to print your name on the card. However, please note that it would take up to five (5) business days to obtain the personalized card couriered to your Home/Office address. Alternatively, you can purchase the non-personalized card instantly from any branch.

You can load the funds on the card by visiting any Al Fardan Exchange branches in the UAE.

You can nominate someone on your behalf with a valid Emirates Id to visit the nearest branch in order to load the required funds on the card. However please note that the nominated person needs to have a copy of your Emirates Id and your 16-digit card number as well (pls do not share the Expiry date and CVV of the card to any person(s) including your nominated person and/or our branch agent(s)).

You can load any currency on the card with a minimum equivalent amount of AED 100 for free of charge. For loads less than AED 100 or equivalent a load fee of AED 5 plus VAT will be charged to the card.

Yes, your card is a multi-currency whereby you can load up-to 20 currencies at specified (pre-determined) exchange rates. This saves you on foreign currency conversion rates on the currencies already loaded and any associated transaction fees.

The card is valid for 5 years from the date of purchase. The card is valid till the "Good through /Expiry Date/Valid Till” that is printed on your card. In case of Non-personalized cards there might be instances where your card may expiry before a five-year period from the date of purchase of the card and in those instances AFEX shall ensure to provide the customer with a free replacement card and the funds transferred from the expired card to the replacement card.

When you purchase any goods or services with your Travelezplus card it will automatically use the currency of the country (provided you have the funds in the relevant currency) in which the transaction is being made.

If there is no such currency or associated balance available on the card, the funds from USD currency will be utilized first followed by other currencies in the order you have set. If there are no sufficient balance (all currencies put together) to cover your purchase, then the transaction will be declined due to insufficient funds.

We recommend that you move funds to the desired currency you are planning to use. For example, if you intend travelling to London we recommend you to transfer money into GBP wallet. You can transfer money between currency wallets through dedicated mobile app. If you don’t move money into the desired currency prior to travelling, you can still make purchases, however if there is not sufficient money in the GBP wallet, the funds will be drawn from other active wallets (if funds are available) starting with the USD wallet followed by other currency wallets in the priority order you have set . This act will put you in a less favorable position, as you might be losing some funds on the currency exchange rate calculated between GBP and other currency(ies) used during the transaction.

The card enables you to purchase goods or services safely using the 3DS secure (where a One Time Password (OTP) is sent to your registered mobile number provided to Al Fardan Exchange during the customer registration) feature. However, you need to ensure that the merchant to whom you are purchasing the goods or services from is authentic on internet. We are not liable for losses from cardholders purchasing from fraudulent websites.

The card is valid for 5 years. The Valid Till/Expiry Date is printed on the back of your card. We recommend you to use your available funds before expiry of the card. Once card has expired you need to purchase/renew (with applicable charges) a new card and the available funds will be transferred to the new card. In case you do not want to purchase/renew a new card, you can then redeem the funds available on the card in our branch, however there would be charges applied for this transaction. (Exception: In case of Non-personalized cards there might be instances where your card may expiry before a five-year period from the date of purchase of the card and in those instances AFEX shall ensure to provide the customer with a free replacement card and the funds transferred from the expired card to the replacement card.)

Refunds or reversals, whether directly from a merchant or in the form of a disputed transaction that was transacted in a particular currency, will be returned / credited in the relevant transaction currency with the same amount. We might block the refund / credit on your card if there is no corresponding debit transaction associated with it.

You may cancel the card or close the card at any time before the expiry date by visiting any of our branches in the UAE and fill up the Card Closure Form provided by the teller at the branch.

If the card has not been in use for last six (6) months, there will be inactivity fees applied on each subsequent month till the card is used again. This is known as inactivity fees. The card may not be accepted at some Merchant locations which are not in compliance with either our internal policies or according to Sharia requirements as determined at our sole discretion.

You need to have your email address order to successfully download and use the Travelez Plus Platinum mobile app. The mobile app will help you to activate the card, monitor your card transactions, check transactions history, swap money between currency wallets, block your card (if necessary) and also set priorities to your active wallets. The common causes of declined transactions on your card are as follows:

• Card is not active
• Card does not have sufficient funds
• Wrong PIN entry at POS/ATM
• Card is expired

• A physical damage on the card such as on chip/magstripe

Yes, you may use Travelezplus Card to Pre-authorize your hotel booking or car hire. The hotels or car hire companies might block a certain amount as pre-auth on your card. Therefore, the funds blocked under pre-auth will not be available for use till the time they release it.

Card can only be used by the individual to whom the card has been issued. Under no circumstances are you allowed to share your card with any other individual.

Yes, a Cardholder (Primary) can avail Supplementary Cards for his/her family (only).

For non-personalized Supplementary card its immediate upon successful KYC completion of the Supplementary cardholder and for Personalized Supplementary cards 5-6 business days.

Maximum of Two (2) Supplementary Cards can be issued against the Primary Card. i.e One (1) Primary Card and Two (2) Supplementary cards.

The Supplementary Card can be used anywhere where the Primary card is enabled. i.e International & Domestic (PoS, ATM, Online etc) transaction.

The Primary Cardholder can request Supplementary cards for Parent, Siblings, spouse and Children (age above 18) with an Active Emirates ID.

The Primary and Supplementary cards enjoy the same Card Max Balance/Purchase/Withdrawals limits. Max Balance of USD 10,000 will be shared amongst by the Primary and Supplementary cards.

Yes, the Supplementary Cardholder is required to share his/her UAE mobile number during registration and an International Number (optional) for transaction related communications.

A Supplementary Card can be only issued to a UAE resident, age 18 and above, related to Primary card through a familial relationship as mentioned in Point 41 above and hence cannot be re-issued to the Primary cardholder’s name (i.e Duplication is not possible).

The Supplementary Card cost, load fee, reload fee, withdrawal fee etc. will be as same as that of Primary card. The funds will be loaded to the primary cardholder account only.

Yes, the Supplementary cardholder can visit our branch for the cancellation/closure of the Supplementary card only. Supplementary cardholder cannot close the Primary card or account.

Yes, since the Primary cardholder is the actual card owner and is liable for the Secondary card usage, the Primary cardholder can initiate cancellation/closure of both the Primary and Supplementary card(s).

In order for a Supplementary cardholder to avail a new Travelez Plus Platinum card, the supplementary cardholder needs to cancel his/her supplementary card first and then apply for a new Travelez Plus Platinum card as a Primary cardholder.

Liability of the Supplementary Prepaid Card will be on the Primary cardholder.

Supplementary cardholder will get standard notifications for the transactions performed against their supplementary card.
